Check them out!!!! Made from rescued-from-the-dumpster wool sweaters!
One Yard Wonders
Magnets made from rescued fabric scraps. They are so punchy and fun. My fridge is about to be covered with them. Check’em out HERE.
I got my books yesterday and the one that excites me most is “One Yard Wonders”….it’s filled with simple sewing projects. I’m currently teaching myself to sew-on my mom’s
OLLLLD perfectly functioning sewing machine-so I’m looking forward to the challenge.
Check out the flickr group of one yard creations here.
These are some of my faves…..
I just ordered the following on Amazon. (I signed up for the Amazon Visa—and basically got them for free..my dad would be disappointed.)
Regardless, I’m so pumped to start creating.
I think I can…
I traveled a lot during the past week (lots of down time), and for some reason I was thinking about why pincushions are shaped like tomatoes, and what’s the deal with the little berry-tomato needle-sharpener dealey? (like I said, I’m weird.) So I did an etsy pincushion search…turns out they come in all (produce) shapes and sizes.
My favorite is the kiwi. (click images for links to source)
I’m going to try to make one of these, I am a seveeeeeerrly amature sewer, so, we’ll see how this goes.
